Keep your Brown Sugar Soft

brown sugar keeper tip It can be so annoying. You’re ready to make your famous chocolate chip cookies or some other yummy treat, and you find your brown sugar hard as a rock when you pull it out. There are a few solutions you can try:

  • If you have the time, put the sugar in a bowl, lay a damp dish towel over it and let it sit overnight.
  • Or you can put it in the microwave for about 5 seconds at a time. Take it out and try to break it up. If it still is hard, try it for another 5 seconds.

To keep your brown sugar from getting hard in the first place, you can put a small piece of apple in the bag or piece of bread to keep it fresh.

My favorite way to keep it fresh is this cute little bear. It’s adorable, cheap and it works!
