It can be so annoying. You’re ready to make your famous chocolate chip cookies or some other yummy treat, and you find your brown sugar hard as a rock when you pull it out. There are a few solutions you can try:
- If you have the time, put the sugar in a bowl, lay a damp dish towel over it and let it sit overnight.
- Or you can put it in the microwave for about 5 seconds at a time. Take it out and try to break it up. If it still is hard, try it for another 5 seconds.
To keep your brown sugar from getting hard in the first place, you can put a small piece of apple in the bag or piece of bread to keep it fresh.
