Meal Plan for December 10-16

How has your December been going so far? Mine is going great. The weather has been warm (after a colder than usual November).

I’m almost finished with my Christmas shopping and have been wrapping presents as soon as they come in the house. I usually wait a few days before Christmas and end up wrapping them all at once and it takes literally hours to do. Doing them as they come is making things less stressful for me and less stress is good anytime of year, but specially at Christmas!

I got 2 nice things in the mail this week. First I received a box of chocolate from Ghirardelli. I’m an affiliate for them (along with being a big fan) and they were sending out samples to bloggers to try. What’s not to love about that? Hey, I’ll gladly offer myself as a taste tester for anything Ghirardelli!

They had 4 flavors for Christmas. One was Pumpkin Spice which was really good. They also had Eggnog which I have to admit was my least favorite flavor but it wasn’t bad. And then there were 2 different types of Peppermint Bark. I’m not sure what the difference was except one had red and green flakes (I guess tiny candy pieces) in it and the other just had green. The peppermint bark was my favorite. Now I’m hoping I’ll get some more of this before Christmas. I may just have to break down and buy it for myself.

The other thing I got was a basket of play food made by the toy company of Melissa and Doug. It was a giveaway I won from Sweetly B Squared. This will be a Christmas gift for my granddaughter MayMay. She has her own little Little Tikes Kitchen set up in my kitchen and when I cook, she “cooks” in her kitchen. So now she will have a nice little selection of  pretend food to cook with. Grilled Veggies: Onions, Mushrooms, peppers

Mashed Potatoes and Gravy

I thought I’d give you my easy peasy recipe for Rotel Hamburger. This is such a simple recipe, beginning cooks can make this. This is something I used to get my school aged kids to make on their night to cook.

Rotel Hamburger
1 pound lean ground beef
2 cans mild Rotel tomatoes

In a large fry pan, cook up the hamburger, breaking it up in bite size chunks. Drain fat.

Add tomatoes and heat til hot.

Pour over rice and serve.

I told you it was easy.
