I remember my dad using this when I was a kid on our vinyl kitchen floor.
When I started my own household, I started using this stuff and have been using it for the last 30 years. I occasionally try a new cleaner (I love Cinch!) but I always come back to this old stand by.
Well, for starters it’s economical. One 16 ounce bottle will last me 4 months or more. You dilute it so a little goes a long way.
What I really love is that it cleans pretty much everything! You don’t need half a dozen cleaners in your home. You do need something to clean glass as Murphy’s will leave a film on that. I use my homemade glass cleaner for that.
I use Murphy’s Oil Soap on my hardwood floors.
I use it on my tile and vinyl floors.
I use it on my vinyl and leather furniture.
I also use it on my leather coat, my leather boots, and vinyl shoes. It sure saves on having to take leather clothes to the cleaners.
It works really well in the kitchen because it cuts grease so well. I use it on my walls (back splash) and on my kitchen cabinets. Also all my appliances. It makes my kitchen sink shine. I also use it if I have some pots and pans that have that have stuck on, burnt on food. Just squirt a little of the diluted soap, let set for a few minutes and then wash out.
Any drawbacks to using Murphy’s Oil Soap? Hmmm, not really. Except like I mentioned before, it doesn’t clean glass. I know I read somewhere where someone was saying it will damage your hardwood floors over time. That’s rubbish. I have used it for 30 years now with no problems. But you do need to be sure that you dilute it before using. Never use it full strength.
You can get Murphy’s at your local grocery store, Walmart and even Amazon. Give it a try and let me know how you like it!
