`The ABCs of Me

abcI’m involved with a wonderful group of ladies over at www.voiceboks.com and today we were challenged to do a post called the ABC’s of me. It’s basically an alphabetical listing of facts about ourselves.

Personally, I seriously doubt if anyone wants that much info about me but seeing as I was stumped for something to write about for tomorrow, I decided to give it a try. Besides, I checked out a few of previous posts like this and they were kind of fun to read.

So here goes. Hope you don’t fall asleep before you get to Z.

A- Age. I’m 52. Gosh, hard to believe I’m that old! I still feel 25.

B-Bed Size.Queen

C-Chores. The chore I dislike the most is mopping the floors.

D-Daughter. I have 2. Shannon is 26 and is a manager of a bar. April is 23 and is the manager of a hair salon. Both are beautiful and smart.

E-Essential Makeup Item. Mascara. My eyelashes are light and are practically invisible without my trusty mascara.

F-Favorite Color. Pink. Can you tell?

G-Grandchild. I have one beautiful little granddaughter who just turned 2.

H-Height. 5’6″. I used to be 5’8″ but I shrunk in the past 10 years. Yikes! I’m the incredible shrinking woman! Now if I could only shrink in my girth.

I-Icecream– My favorite is Brownie Nut Fudge.

J-Junk Food- It would have to be brownies. Or icecream. Or maybe brownies with icecream. Yum!

K-Kids-Oops, already answered that under D and S.

L-Live. I live in Virginia Beach.

M-Mom’s Name– Joyce

N-Nicknames. Cath, Cat, Cathy Ann, and my dad called me Catsup (silly, I know).

O-Overnight Hospital Stays-  When having each of my kids of course. Also I was in a bad car accident at age 19. And later I had to have some surgery from the result of that crash.

P-Pets. I have 4 dogs. Joey is a Poodle Terrier mix. Buddy is a German Shepherd mix. Roxy is a Black Lab Border Collie mix and Kilo is a Chihuahua. All are throw away dogs which are dogs no one wanted and found their way to us in different ways. I also have 2 fire bellied Asian frogs named Ricky and Lucy.

Q-Quiet-I can be a little quiet if I’m in a crowd. I do much better in small groups.

R-Righty or Lefty. Righty

S-Son I have one son Ryan. He’s 20 and in college. He wants to be an engineer.

T-Time I wake up: Between 7am and 9am. Depends on what time I have to get the boy up for school or what time the toddler gets up.

U-Underwear. Of course. Except in the shower or when I’m sleeping.

V-Vegetables. My favorites are Brussel Sprouts and Asparagus.

W-Winter-My least favorite Season.

X-Xtreme favorite thing to do. I love reading and usually have 3-4 books going at any one time. I also love doing crafts. Yes, I know I spelled extreme wrong but I was having a hard time coming up with a word that starts with X.

Y-Young. I was once and still am in my mind.

Z-Zoo Animals-My favorites are Giraffes.

Great list!! I have shrunk too but will never, ever, admit it ( well I guess I just did!). Brownies are my favoirite as well and my name is Kathy, but, as you can see, spelled with a K! I love reading everyones list and see how everyone puts their own spin on it! Have a great weekend!

    Hi Kathy,

Great post! I used to have two African clawed frogs – miss them. 52 is just a number – no worries. Age is how you live life not the chronology. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks April. You are right, age is only a number.

I had to look up African clawed frogs to see what they looked like. Totally cool! Specially the white ones.

Thanks Christine! Making you smile made me smile!I always loved that my dad called me catsup too although it is really a goofy nickname.

Aw, I hope you had fun writing this, because it was fun to read! I love that you say you were once young and still are in your mind. Also, congrats on having a beautiful grandchild. I can see how smitten my parents are with my kids, and I get the feeling it’s even more fun the second time around! Great to meet you!

  15. mommacat says:

I did have fun Laura! And yes, it really is better the second time around. There is less pressure and I definitely have more patience with my grandbaby than I did with my own kids.

You are wonderful for taking in dogs that others left behind. We have a border collie/black lab named Cooper. At least that’s what they think he is, he was a rescue dog. I also have a German Shepherd and a lab/collie mix, but she’s like a yellow lab/Lassie collie (although WAAAAY to lazy to even consider helping find Timmy down a well).

  17. mommacat says:

Thanks Nikki. That’s funny we have the same kind of mixed breed dog.
